HoldCoach – Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

In short: HoldCoach has no account, no ads and no analytics, and does not collect or send any personal data. Your workout history stays on your phone. The microphone is only used, during a workout, to hear the words “next” and “stop”; nothing is recorded or stored.

This policy describes how the Android app HoldCoach (package com.driot.holdcoach), developed by Antoine Driot, handles your information.

Information stored on your device

HoldCoach stores the following, only on your phone:

This information is never sent to the developer or to any server operated by the developer.

Microphone

If voice commands are turned on, HoldCoach asks for access to the microphone. It is used only while a workout screen is open, to recognize the commands “next” (start the next exercise) and “stop” (end a hold). HoldCoach does not record, store or transmit audio.

Recognition is done by the speech recognition service installed on your phone (usually Google's). HoldCoach asks for on-device (offline) recognition when available; depending on your phone, the speech service may process audio according to its own privacy policy. You can turn voice commands off in HoldCoach's settings, or deny the microphone permission; the app works fully with its on-screen buttons.

Voice announcements

Spoken announcements (“30 seconds”, “1 minute”…) are generated by your phone's text-to-speech engine. Only this fixed text is spoken; no personal data is involved.

Notifications

Daily reminders are scheduled and shown locally by your phone. No push service or server is involved.

Sharing and export

Your history leaves your phone only when you choose to: when you tap “Share” or “Export”, HoldCoach creates a file with your history (including the phone names described above) and hands it to the app or location you pick (Quick Share, Bluetooth, a messaging app, Google Drive…). What happens next is governed by that app or service.

Android backup

If Android backup is enabled on your phone, Android may include HoldCoach's history and settings in your device backup (for example to your Google account), so they can be restored on a new phone. This is managed by Android and your Google account settings, not by HoldCoach.

What HoldCoach does not do

Deleting your data

All data is stored on your phone. You can delete it at any time by clearing the app's storage (Settings → Apps → HoldCoach → Storage → Clear data) or by uninstalling the app. Files you exported or shared are not affected; delete them where you saved them.

Children

HoldCoach is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
